On Thursday 12th May 2011, Clem Ryan was joined on the Kildare Today programme by "Kathleen" (not her real name). "Kathleen" contacted the programme because she wanted to tell her story of time spent in a Mother and Baby Home in Castlepollard in the 1960's, in the hope that it would help her come to terms with what had befallen her. 

In most moving terms, she recounts how she was forced against her will to leave her home and sent to Castlepollard, how her new-born baby was taken from her and how her whole life has been affected.

This is the truly powerful and moving story of an incredibly brave woman.
