 The Weekend Sport Preview : 7pm-8pm Killian Whelan has been involved in Radio since 1992. He began, as a 15 year old, producing and editing items on the Sunday Sports programme, on CKR. He joined Kfm at its launch in February 2004. He presents the Friday evening Sports Preview and commentates on various matches at weekends. He commentated on all of Kildare's Championship games in 2010 & classes it as an incredible experience. He is an avid GAA fan. In 2010, he was a selector with the Ballykelly Ladies team who won the County Junior A Football title. He follows Liverpool and Barcelona and has been to the Nou Camp on a number of occasions. He was in the Millennium Stadium for Munster's Heineken Cup victories in 06 & 08 and in Murrayfield for Leinster's success in 09. His favourite sporting moment was reporting on Europe winning the Ryder Cup in the K Club in 06. His favourite interviewee was Evander Holyfield, who he met at the World Amateur Boxing Championships in Chicago in 2007. |
