Complaints

The Broadcasting Act 2009 provides for the establishment of a Code of Practice by broadcasters for handling listener’ complaints.

Kfm is committed to high quality, balanced and fair broadcasting.  If you feel that you have not been treated fairly or objectively by any broadcast, you can make a complaint to Kfm and we commit to examining your complaint and giving you a prompt response i.e. within five working days. On receipt of your complaint, the matter will be investigated by the C.E.O. and Programme Director by reference to the relevant programme item.

 

We will, within 5 working days of receipt of your complaint, furnish you with a written response.  If you are unhappy with Kfm’s response, we will give full consideration to a further submission from you.  We will, within 3 working days, make a further written response to you.

If you are still not satisfied, you can refer your complaint to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (see www.bai.ie; e-mail, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , or phone, 01 644 1280).

 

Complaints should be made in writing and addressed to: C.E.O., Kfm Radio, Kfm Broadcast Centre, Newhall, Naas, Co. Kildare.

 

You can make a complaint under any of the following categories;

Ø      Objectivity & impartiality in news

Ø      Fairness, objectivity & impartiality in current affairs

Ø      Anything which may reasonably be regarded as causing harm or offence

Ø      Anything likely to promote or incite to crime

Ø      Anything tending to undermine the authority of the State or contravene the law

Ø      Privacy of an individual

Ø      Harmful or offensive material

The above are guidelines for your information and do not preclude you from making a complaint to Kfm about any broadcast that you feel is not fair to you as an individual, to a group, or does not fairly and in a balanced manner reflect a subject matter which was broadcast.
