Féile: Maynooth Boys Qualify For Division 1 Final |
|
Maynooth U14 Boys have qualified for the Division 1 Final of the Féile Peil na nÓg, in St Conleth's Park, Newbridge today (Sunday).
After coming through a tough group on points difference, Maynooth had too much class for Cork outfit, St Michael's from Douglas, as they hit four goals to win by 4-5 to 1-3. Shane Monagahn and Alex Birchall found the net in the opening half for Maynooth as they led by 2-1 to 0-2 at half-time. Playing with the breeze in the second half, the North Kildare club went ahead by 2-4 to 0-3 when Conor Davin hit the net for the third goal and the win was sealed when Neil Flynn set up Eoin Byrne for the fourth goal.
In the second semi-final in Naas, Dublin champions Ballyboden St Enda's were too good for Derry's Slaughtneil, winning 0-8 to 0-3. Ballyboden led by just 0-4 to 0-2 at the interval but depsite playing against the breeze in the second half powered clear to win by five.
Kfm will provide full commentary of the game on Sunday Sport. Throw-in is at 2.45.
