There are currently 48 childcare providers in Kildare that have graduated from the Leadership for Inclusion (LINC) higher education programme.
The programme, a level 6 Special Purpose Award, is designed to support the inclusion of children with a disability in free pre-school provided under the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme. It is part of the government's Access and Inclusion Model and was launched in 2016.
The large urban centres of Ireland have the highest numbers of childcarers with the qualification, with Dublin having the most at 127, followed by Cork on 107.
