Increase In Radioactive Pollution May Indicate Incident In Russia Or Kazakhstan

: 11/10/2017 - 17:06

A French nuclear safety institute says an increase in radioactive pollution could indicate a nuclear accident in Russia or Kazakhstan.

The I-R-S-N says the substance Ruthenium 106 was detected over Europe since late September.

It says the most likely release zone was between the Volga River and Ural Mountains.

However, it says the levels are of no consequence for human health or the environment - and the substance has dissipated.
