Dept. of Education officials are "confident" places at second level can be found for two Newbridge children with special needs by September.
Both children are in sixth class.
Today's meeting involved Kildare South's three TDs, and senior officials from the Department of Education and National Council for Special Education
A group of parents of seven children with additional needs began a campaign when it became apparent that places for their children in secondary school were not readily available.
Places for five of the children have been found.
Kildare South Fine Gael TD, Martin Heydon, says Dept. officials are "confident" places can be found.
Longer term solutions for future years where children with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities will require special educational places at second level in South Kildare was also discussed.
