Sunday Sport Round Up: Rob Heffernan Retires After 8th Place Finish In London

Ireland's Rob Heffernan has finished 8th in the men's 50k race walk at the World Athletics Championships.

The Former World Champion walker announced his retirement immediately after the race.

The Cork athlete finished as Ireland's highest placed competitor from the Championships.


In Rugby,

Ireland will be hoping to make it two wins from two when they face Japan in the Women's Rugby World Cup in Dublin.

Kick off is at 5.15.


There's two games on in the Premier League today,

Newcastle United play Spurs at 1.30 then at 4 it's Manchester United against West Ham.


In Golf,

Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy are out of contention at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.

They both sit on 4 over par going into their final round today, America's Kevin Kisner leads on 7 under par.

Finally racing at home takes place in the Curragh and Downpatrick,

The first in the Curragh is at 2 o'clock with Downpatrick starting 15 minutes later.
