CSO Plans To Track Tourists' Phone Data.

: 07/17/2017 - 12:52

The CSO plans to track the phone data of tourists to find out where they spend their time.

It wants to get a better insight into how many tourists travel outside of Dublin, and what areas they are bypassing.

The state body insists the measure won't be in breach of data protection rules.

It will only track the general location of foreign registered mobiles, and won't have access to names, data or phone content.
