The Social Protection Minister says there's no guarantee that a pension problem affecting 40,000 women and men will be fixed before the next budget.
Of those affected in Kildare, 1,166 are women and 555 are men.
Changes made in 2012 means women in particular, who took time out of work to raise families, lose out on around 35 euro a week.
Protestors are highlighting the issue outside Leinster House this afternoon.
