The Kildare Ladies Senior football team are continuing their preparations for tomorrow's 2024 Lidl National League Division 2 Final against Tyrone at Croke Park

Throw-in is at 1pm and Kfm will have full live commentary with Seamus Dillon and Tara Byrne, in association with Dowling's Bar Ballyshannon.

A tight encounter is expected as the teams drew when they met a couple of weeks ago and both sides are already guaranteed promotion.

The Under 20 Hurlers start their Leinster Championship campaign at home to Kerry at  Manguard Park this afternoon.

That match throws in at 2.00.

At the same time the Minor Hurlers continue their Leinster Championship  campaign with a round  3 match against Carlow at the Netwatch training centre in Fenagh.

 

Thurles is the venue for this evening’s Allianz Hurling League between Kilkenny and Clare.

Throw-in is at 7.15.

The Connacht Football Championship gets underway this afternoon in Ruislip.

Galway are away to London, with throw-in at 3.00


SOCCER

It could be a pivotal day in the Premier League title race with Manchester City and Arsenal both in action.

Arsenal will end the day at the top if they take all three points from their trip to Brighton.

City will go to the summit for at least a few hours if they beat Crystal Palace in the lunchtime kick-off.

At the other end of the table Luton can move level on points with Nottingham Forest, who are just outside of the relegation places, with a victory at home to Bournemouth.

Everton can take a big step towards safety if they beat struggling Burnley.

Aston Villa look to boost their hopes of a top four finish when they host Brentford.

Fulham take on Newcastle and West Ham go to Wolves.


The Republic of Ireland opened their women’s Euro qualifying campaign with a 1-nil defeat to France in Metz last night.

The game’s only goal came inside six-minutes, with Ireland putting in a strong defensive display against the world number-3.

Ireland’s next opponents, England, were held to a 1-1 draw by Sweden tonight at Wembley.

 

RUGBY

Leinster continue their Champions Cup campaign at the Aviva Stadium tonight.

They take on the Leicester Tigers in the last 16 at 8 o’clock.  

Caelan Doris captains the team for the first time in European competition., while Naas’ Jamie Osborne will start alongside Robbie Henshaw in the centre.

In the same section of the draw, the DHL Stormers play holders La Rochelle from 3.

 

SNOOKER

Mark Allen gets his Tour Championship semi-final underway this afternoon against Mark Williams.
The winner will play Ronnie O'Sullivan in tomorrow's final.

RACING

Today’s racing at the Curragh has been cancelled.

The track for was found unfit for racing during an early morning inspection.

The Kildare course was due to hold an eight racing meeting this afternoon, but it has fallen foul of the weather.

Officials say over 4mm of rain fell in the last 24 hours and parts of the track waterlogged.
