Kevin McStay appointed as Mayo Senior manager on 4-year term
GAELIC GAMES
Last night it was announced Kildare Ladies Football Manager Sean Finnegan has stepped down.
Finnegan will not take up a role as part of new Mayo Senior Football Manager, Kevin McStay's backroom team.
Finnegan noted it was a difficult decision to make, but "as a passionate Mayo man" he had "always wanted to become involved" with his own county - an opportunity he notes he could not pass up.
McStay's backroom team includes former Mayo boss Stephen Rochford and his coach from 2016 to 2018, Donie Buckley.
60 year-old McStay returns to inter-county management on a four-year term, having stepped down as Roscommon boss in 2018.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits their poor start to the new season is concerning.
Last year's runners-up remain without a win after three Premier League games, following a 2-1 loss to Manchester United last night.
Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho both netted for the hosts at Old Trafford, as they picked up their first points of the campaign.
Klopp says his squad has been hampered by injuries:
Republic of Ireland international Adam Idah could feature for Norwich in the Carabao Cup tonight.
The striker - who has been out of action with a knee injury - is poised to be included in the Canaries squad for their second round clash with Bournemouth.
Elsewhere, Leicester take on Stockport, while Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa go to Bolton.
League One side Fleetwood Town have home advantage against Everton.

Ukraine's football season begins today - despite the country still being under attack from Russia.
Shakhtar Donetsk take on Metalist in Kyiv - where no fans will be allowed - and players will be rushed to bomb shelters if air raid sirens sound.
All games were put on hold in February following the Russian invasion of the country.
