The Kildare camogie team has hit out at the county board after it to withdrew them from the All-Ireland intermediate championship against their wishes.

GAELIC GAMES

The Kildare Intermediate camogie panel have called on clubs across the county for support, in their bid to be reinstated to this year's All Ireland Championship.

They say they’ve been angered and distressed by the County Board's decision to remove them from the Championship.

The group say they received the news via Whatsapp messaged to say they had been withdrawn, and the Co Board stated that no further comment would be made

The panel claim a squad charter had been breached, and they are seeking the minimum requirements to be met.

Clare's minors continued a fine week for the county's underage sides last night.

Eight points from Marc O’Brien and 1-1 from Eoin Begley helped them win the Electric Ireland Munster Minor Hurling title.

The young Banner side beat Cork by 1-19 to 15 points in Thurles.

It's semi-finals night in the Leinster under-20 hurling championship tonight.

Kilkenny face Wexford at UPMC Nowlan Park.

While Tullamore hosts the meeting of Offaly and Dublin.

Both games throw-in at quarter-to-7.

SOCCER

Real Madrid and Manchester City's Champions League semi-final is delicately poised after last night's first leg in Spain.

It finished 1-1 at the Bernabeu.

Kevin de Bruyne's superb strike midway through the second half for City cancelled out Vinicius Junior's first-half opener.

The second leg is at the Etihad Stadium next Wednesday.

The first leg of the other semi-final will be played tonight at the San Siro in Italy.

It's twenty years since AC Milan and neighbours Inter met at this stage of the competition, and they do so again from 8pm.

CYCLING

Eddie Dunbar will look to build on his promising start to the Giro D'Italia on today's fifth stage.

He begins the day 14th on general classification after yesterday's nine-place finish.

Dunbar is 2-minutes and 15-seconds off Andreas Leknessund, who wears the leader's pink jersey.

Today's stage is a hilly 172-kilometre trek from Atripalda to Salerno.

RACING

There's an eight-race card at Gowran Park this afternoon, with the first off at 1.20.
