To facilitate travel within EU
The IT infrastructure for the digital green certificate, will be ready at an EU level, on June 1st.
It will be up to member states to ensure data is available, for the issuing of certificates later in the month.
The documents are aimed at facilitating travel within the European Union.
Last week's agreement on the EU Digital COVID Certificate was a major milestone.

The IT infrastructure will be ready at EU level as of 1st June
Now Member States have to ensure that national systems are fed with citizens’ health status data so certificates can be issued.
