Over 3,500 people in North Kildare are being asked observe a Boil Water Notice.

Irish Water say they have issued the measure, to protect the health of it customers due to network issues and inadequate chlorine.

Affected areas include Carbury, Johnstownbridge, Hortland and Ballagh Cross.

Water used for drinking and making of ice, brushing teeth and the preparation of food not cooked prior to eating, must undergo a rolling boil for a least a minute before being cooled.
