In 2019, the council identified 238 new unauthorised development cases.
To address these, 356 warning letters were issued, and 184 enforcement notices were served.
Legal proceedings were initiated in 33 cases, and the council closed 162 files by the end of the year.
The following year, 2020, saw an increase in new cases, with 268 identified.
In response, the council issued 360 warning letters and served 159 enforcement notices.
Legal proceedings were slightly less frequent, with 22 cases resulting in legal proceedings, while 136 files were closed.
The trend of new cases remained steady in 2021, again with 268 incidents reported.
The council ramped up its efforts, issuing 434 warning letters – the highest number in the five-year span – and serving 81 enforcement notices.
Legal proceedings dropped to 10 cases, while 150 files were closed.
In 2022, there was a noticeable decrease in new cases, dropping to 205.
The council maintained its proactive stance, issuing 357 warning letters and 128 enforcement notices.
Legal proceedings saw an increase, with 26 cases, while 250 files were closed.
Last year, the council identified 241 new cases.
The number of warning letters issued stood at 358, while 178 enforcement notices were served.
Legal proceedings were initiated in 18 cases, and the council closed 200 files.
