It's a record number of Irish players to start for the Lions
Lions head coach Andy Farrell has picked a record eight Irish players for Saturday's first Test against
Eadestown’s Tadhg Beirne has been picked at blindside flanker, with Dan Sheehan, Tadhg Furlong, Joe McCarthy and Jack Conan also selected to start in the pack.
Jamison Gibson-Park is at scrum-half with James Lowe on the wing, and Hugo Keenan at full-back.
Ronan Kelleher, Bundee Aki and Andrew Porter are among the replacements.
The eight Irish starters eclipses the seven in the second Test against South Africa in 2009, while there's no Welsh player in a Lions Test squad for the first time in over 100 years.
