The remaining All Ireland senior football quarter finals take place this afternoon. First up is Derry V Cork at 1.45. At 4pm, it's Dublin against Mayo.

GAELIC GAMES

Kerry and Monaghan are into the All Ireland senior football championship semi finals.

Monaghan earned a dramatic 9-8 win on penalties over Kieran McGeeney's Armagh at Croke Park yesterday.

Rory Beggan saved Callum Cumiskey's effort in sudden death to earn the Farney County a dramatic victory.

The game itself had finished 14 points apiece at the end of extra time.

Monaghan are into the last four for the first time since 2018.


Kerry progressed through with a 12point win over Feargal Logan's Tyrone

The final score was Kerry 2-18 Tyrone 0-12

Kingdom manager Jack O'Connor felt the extra week's rest aided his players.




The remaining semi finalists will be decided this afternoon.

First up at Croke Park is the meeting of Derry and Cork at 1.45pm.

At 4pm, Dublin play Mayo.

After yesterday's Camogie action, it's been confirmed that Kilkenny and Cork's All Ireland quarter final will take place next Sunday.

That will be a repeat of last year's decider.

The other quarter final will see Tipperary and Antrim meet next Saturday.

Galway and Waterford await the respective winners in the semi finals.

Locally, the UPMC Senior A Hurling Championship Preliminary round takes place today at Manguard Park.

Coill Dubh V Clane throws-in at 1pm.

Confey GAA V Ardclough is at 2:45pm.

Maynooth play Éire Óg Corra Choill at 4:30pm.

RACING

The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival continues at the Curragh this afternoon.

The first of 8 races goes to post at 1:50pm.

The Aidan O'Brien trained 'Auguste Rodin' is the odds on favourite today.

Ryan Moore will ride the Epsom winner in the feature at 3:40pm.

Kfm will be broadcasting live from the festival with Pat Costello from 2pm, in association with the Curragh Racecourse.

Roscommon middleweight Aoife O'Rourke is in contention for a gold medal at the European Games in Poland today.

She fights Davina Myrha Michel of France at lunchtime.

Three Irish kickboxers will also bid for gold in Krakow.

Nathan Tait competes in the point fighting 74kg class decider, Amy Wall is in the full contact 60kg decider, and Conor McGlinchey lines up in the final of the 84kg point fighting class.
