Rep. Ireland Lose 1-0 To Sweden; West Ham Beat Genk In Europa League

Arsenal meet Aston Villa in Premier League this evening

The Republic of Ireland women's team lost 1-0 to Sweden in their World Cup qualifier at Tallaght Stadium last night.

A first half own goal by Blessington's Louise Quinn was all that separated the Girls in Green from a side ranked second in the world.

Denise O'Sullivan may miss Tuesday's game in Finland due to an arm injury.

Manager Vera Pauw is confident the team can go to Helsinki and get a result:

West Ham made it 3 wins out of 3 in the Europa League group stage last night.

They beat Genk 3-0.

Tottenham Hotspur lost 1-0 away to Vitesse Arnhem in the Conference League.


Both FAI Cup semi finals are down for decision tonight.

Bohemians host Waterford, and it's St Patrick's Athletic up against the holders Dundalk.

The matches kick off at 7.45pm.
