Up to 35 tenants move into energy-efficient homes close to Kilcullen town centre
Thirty-five tenants have moved into new social homes at La Touche Park in Kilcullen, providing a welcome boost to housing supply in the town.
The development includes 15 social homes in Kilcullen, made up of four three-bedroom houses, seven two-bedroom homes and four one-bedroom duplex apartments.
The homes have been delivered by Approved Housing Body Respond.
All properties have an A-rated BER, offering high levels of energy efficiency and lower running costs for tenants.
Located just north of Kilcullen town centre, the new homes are around a 1.4km walk from the main street, with easy access to shops, cafes and local services.
One tenant, Gráinne Vickers, who moved in just before Christmas, said receiving the keys ahead of the festive season made it especially meaningful.
“I was so lucky to get the keys to my beautiful new home just before Christmas. I’m settling in now and really looking forward to spring,” she said.
Respond spokesperson Niamh Randall said the homes would help strengthen the Kilcullen community.
“A secure, high-quality home provides the foundation for stability and wellbeing. We’re delighted to welcome new tenants and see this new neighbourhood take shape in Kilcullen,” she said.
The development was funded by the Department of Housing through the Capital Advance Leasing Facility, along with finance from the Housing Finance Agency. Construction was carried out by Sayvale 21 Limited and Jem Construction.
Respond currently houses more than 20,000 people nationwide, with over 3,500 homes under construction.
