Speaking on Kildare Today, Cllr McEvoy said he has urged Kildare County Council to install a controlled pedestrian crossing near the Main Street junction.
A broken leg and a fractured skull.
These are just some of the injuries sustained by people injured at a pedestrian crossing on the R407 Kilcock Road in Clane.
One person suffered a broken leg and another a skull fracture, with a third injury also reported to have been injured, according to Independent Councillor Pádraig McEvoy.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Cllr McEvoy said he has urged Kildare County Council to install a controlled pedestrian crossing near the Main Street junction.
His motion was supported by several councillors.
KCC officials confirmed an assessment of the location is planned, and said the completion of the Clane Inner Relief Road makes this an appropriate time to review crossing options.
However, they noted that funding is not currently available through the National Transport Authority.
A spokesperson for KCC said an initial screening exercise can be considered "when resources permit".
