Green Light Given For 1,000-Pupil Expansion At Blessington Community College

The decision, announced today by Wicklow County Council, follows years of advocacy by local parents and the school community.

Conditional planning permission has been granted to extend and develop Blessington Community College into a 1,000-pupil school.

The decision, announced today by Wicklow County Council, follows years of advocacy by local parents and the school community.

The expansion project aims to address the growing demand for secondary school places in the area.

Blessington, along with its surrounding villages, has experienced population growth, yet educational infrastructure has not kept pace.

Overcrowding, insufficient facilities, and a lack of classroom space have been pressing concerns for both students and educators.
