342 applications were lodged in the county.

Hundreds of households in Kildare applied for help after Storm Éowyn, according to new figures.

The Humanitarian Assistance Scheme - which was activated last January to support families left without power and water – has paid out €42,300 to people in Kildare so far.

As of September 30th 2025, 342 applications were lodged in the county.

185 were approved, with an average payout of €228.

Nationally, more than 96,000 claims were registered, with over €14 million paid out.

Most payments were issued under Stage one, which covered the cost of feeding families in the immediate aftermath of the storm rather than compensating for property damage.

Almost 38,000 people nationwide were turned down, and 98 applications are still awaiting a decision.

Reviews are still being accepted and more substantial Stage 2 and 3 payments remain open, subject to income assessments.
