A Kildare Senator has called for an independent inquiry into the abuse and harassment of female Defence Force members.
It follows the broadcast of documentary, "The Women of Honour", over the weekend, in which four women soldiers recounted their experiences.
The Minister for Defence, Simon Coveney, says he will “make a full statement” this week on the allegations.

Kildare Fianna Fáil Senator Fiona O’Loughlin says the women's stories are "harrowing", and require independent review.
“I commend the four incredibly brave women who took part in the documentary, the Defence Forces can be a patriarchal club. I will be raising my calls for an independent inquiry in the Seanad when its new term commences next week.”
