Some 114 refugees will arrive towards the end of April
The Mayor of Kildare has said he is embarrassed by the right wing propaganda being spread by some residents in Kill.
Speaking to Kfm Fintan Brett said the Kill Equestrian centre will have adequate facilities for people and he said it is better than having refugees in tents.
Ukrainian refugees are set to arrive in Kill village in the next few weeks.
Some 114 refugees will arrive towards the end of April, in what will be the first phase, they'll be accommodated at the Kill Equestrian Centre.
It's now being reported that this number is not expected to exceed 340 people, which Cllr.Brett said is 'the capacity of the centre.'
The Department of Integration has confirmed that the first group will be made up mostly of women and children fleeing war.
The second group will arrive in mid or late May.
Members of the Department met with Kill residents on Thursday night.
Cllr.Fintan Brett joined Eoin Beatty on Monday's Kildare Today programme, listen back here:
