Nationally, almost 10,000 children are awaiting an assessment
Over 1,000 children in Kildare and West Wicklow, are awaiting an Assessment of Need by the HSE.
Of that number, 905 have been waiting for 3 months or more.
Responding to a parliamentary question submitted by Labour TD Sean Sherlock, the HSE says it has seen the number of applications for assessments increase in recent years.
Nationally, almost 10,000 children are awaiting an assessment.
Labour Senator Mark Wall says the waiting lists are unacceptable.
