Six Kildare-based positions available as part of national in take of 22 roles.
Six apprenticeship opportunities are being made available at Pfizer’s Newbridge site as part of the company’s 2026 national intake.
In total, 22 apprenticeships are on offer across Ireland, with six based at the Newbridge facility.
Applications are open online until March 17th, 2026.
The roles in Newbridge include four Quality Control Laboratory Apprenticeships, leading to a QQI Level 7 science qualification over three years. There is also one Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitter apprenticeship and one Electrical Instrumentation apprenticeship, both four-year craft programmes.
The initiative is delivered under Ireland’s National Apprenticeship Programme in partnership with SOLAS.
Apprentices combine paid, on-the-job training with academic study and gain nationally recognised QQI qualifications.
Donnchadh Murphy, Site Lead at Pfizer Newbridge, said the programme offers people the opportunity to develop practical skills while contributing to the company’s work in delivering medicines to patients in Ireland and worldwide.
One current apprentice at the Newbridge site, 22-year-old Ben Kirwan from Clane, is in his third year of the Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting programme. He said "I decided to do an apprenticeship because I wanted a more hands-on approach to my education. Before starting at Pfizer, I completed a year studying architecture at TUD Bolton Street, but I realised it wasn’t the right fit for me. Joining the apprenticeship has allowed me to continue my education while learning how a real workplace operates. The apprenticeship is giving me a head start in my career and it is great to be earning while still going to college. From day one, I’ve been able to build practical skills that will serve me for years to come."
Entry routes are described as flexible, with Leaving Certificate results, relevant QQI qualifications and Recognition of Prior Learning all considered. Candidates shortlisted will complete an online assessment followed by group assessment and interview.
Applications for the Newbridge-based apprenticeships can be made through Pfizer’s careers website before the March 17th deadline.
