Gardaí in Kildare have made an arrest in connection with two arson attacks that targeted a vacant detached house in Leixlip - a property that had been at the centre of online rumours and local protests.
A man in his 30s was arrested this morning and is being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a Garda station in the county.
This is the second individual arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation.
The investigation relates to two separate fires on the Celbridge Road - one in the early hours of January 30th and another on February 7th last year.
The February blaze broke out at the privately-owned seven-bedroom property shortly after 1.30am and caused substantial damage to the empty building, known locally as Honeywood.
It is located near the Forest Park estate, adjacent to Barnhall Shopping Centre.
Fire crews brought the fire under control and no one was inside at the time.
The investigation is continuing.
