She said it was instinct to confront the gang but warned locals against it.
A Maynooth woman had a terrifying experience after waking up to discover her front door wide open before she was met by masked males attempting to steal her cars.
Hanka Kubova, who had two young children in bed at the time, was woken at around 4am on Wednesday morning at her home in Beaufield Gardens by repeated banging outside her home.
Initially she thought it was her cat.
When she went downstairs, her front door was wide open and three males were outside attempting to steal her cars.
The situation quickly escalated when one of the intruders was confronted by Ms Kubova who was allegedly pushed to the ground.
Meanwhile, two other males managed to steal a red Ford Transit van and a recently purchased seven-seater Volkswagen Touran, intended for use by the family during their summer holidays.
The suspects allegedly entered Ms Kubova's home using a screwdriver to bypass the front door’s lock.
Once inside, they searched the kitchen and stole a small amount of cash.
They stole keys for the vehicles from near the front door.
Kfm understands that the males were disturbed while struggling to steal an electric car plugged into a unit in the garden.
The three males fled the scene in the work van belonging to Ms Kubova's partner as well as her family car.
She said it was a terrifying event and told Kfm how she was advised to put something heavy against her door to prevent would-be thieves turning the handle.
She also said it was instinct to confront the gang but warned locals against it.
Ms Kubova appealed for anyone with information to contact Gardai.

In a statement to Kfm, Gardai confirmed no arrests have been made at this time and investigations are ongoing.
They said the scene was preserved for a technical examination.
The red Ford Transit transit has registration number 152KE (incomplete reg).
The Touran was a 142D46666 seven-seater with tinted back windows.
