Just 34 women farmers in Kildare took part in the Knowledge Transfer Scheme.
The programme aims to is to up-skill "farmers, to encourage efficiency and effectiveness of work and ensure they engage in a process of continuous improvement which will not only develop their enterprise but also contribute the overall development of the agri food sector. "
In all, 19,576 farmers across Ireland took part in the scheme, of whom 3,173 were women.
