Most Irish People Feel Disabled Community Faces Barriers

New poll released on UN's International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

More than 80% of people in Ireland feel the disabled community faces barriers to participating in life.

The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission has released a new poll to mark the UN's International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

13% of the Irish population has a disability, with one in 10 having experienced discrimination due to their disability in the last 12 months.

Chief Commissioner of the IHREC, Sinéad Gibney says a lot more work needs to be done to make Ireland more inclusive:
