SOCCER
Everton have moved into the top half of the Premier League table after last night's 1-all draw with Leeds at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Thierno Barry's equaliser 15 minutes from time earned the hosts a point after James Justin opened the scoring shortly before the half hour mark.

Leeds are now six points outside the relegation places, with Everton just five points off fourth spot.

 

RUGBY

The Irish rugby squad begin preparations for the Six Nations in Portugal today.

The players will spend over a week in the Algarve on a pre-tournament training camp before facing France on Thursday week in Paris.

 

TENNIS

The women's singles quarter-final between Coco Gauff and Elina Svitolina getting underway at the Australian Open.

Svitolina has taken the opening set 6-1 in Melbourne.

Earlier, Aryna Sabalenka booked her spot in the semi-finals after a straight sets victory over Iva Jovic.

 

Alexander Zverev is through to the semi-finals of the men's singles at the Australian Open.

The German beat Learner Tien by three sets to one in Melbourne earlier this morning.

Later, men's top seed Carlos Alcaraz faces Alex de Minaur.

 

RACING

Racing at Limerick has been cancelled due to the poor weather.

A seven-race card was scheduled to get underway at lunchtime.
