Brontë Celebrations for Heritage Week.

The Kildare premier of a new film on the Irish Brontë saga entitled Prenuptial Politics at the Brontë Parsonage at Haworth.

In 1854 the author, Charlotte Brontë married her father’s former Curate, Banagher-man, Arthur Bell Nicholls. Arthur’s proposal of marriage was made on the 13th of December 1852.  The Reverend Patrick Brontë was enraged that a low-paid Curate had the audacity to suggest a liaison with his famous daughter. To make matters worse, he was Irish.

This film will be shown at Celbridge Community Library

Thursday 21st of August at 6.30 pm.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome and there will be a questions and answers session afterwards.
