Boat Building Workshop / Ceardlann Tógála Bád

Location: Naas Harbour / Cuan Nás na Ríogh
Join us at Naas Harbour for a hands-on, creative afternoon where participants will build model boats from recycled materials, followed by a fun boat race!
The workshop is suitable for all ages and encourages teamwork, environmental awareness, and community engagement.
The event will also include interactive talks on the history of boats on the Grand Canal, offering a fascinating glimpse into Naas’s rich industrial and cultural heritage.

The Kildare premier of a new film on the Irish Brontë saga entitled Prenuptial Politics at the Brontë Parsonage at Haworth.
In 1854 the author, Charlotte Brontë married her father’s former Curate, Banagher-man, Arthur Bell Nicholls. Arthur’s proposal of marriage was made on the 13th of December 1852. The Reverend Patrick Brontë was enraged that a low-paid Curate had the audacity to suggest a liaison with his famous daughter. To make matters worse, he was Irish.
This film will be shown at Celbridge Community Library

Admission is free and everyone is welcome and there will be a questions and answers session afterwards.
