35-Hour Curfew In Place In Kyiv

Due to concerns over intensifying attacks

A 35-hour-long curfew is in place in Ukraine's capital of Kyiv, due to concerns about attacks intensifying.

Washington Post reporter Siobhan O'Grady is in Kyiv where the says the atmosphere is tense the the bombardment of civillian targets has continued throughout the night:

New assaults have also been reported on the southern city of Mariupol, local authorities say Russian troops have occupied a hospital in the city - taking 500 people hostage.

An estimated 20,000 civilians in the area managed to flee through a humanitarian corridor yesterday.

The United Nations says more than 3 million people have now fled Ukraine.

As many as 103 children may have been killed since the invasion began.

Ukraine's prosecutor claims Russian forces have targeted more than 400 schools.

Maryna Tuzhanksa had to leave Kyiv and is now in Hungary - but she has left behind family who have stayed to fight:

A US defence official says Russian troops have made little progress around the country as a whole.

The Ukrainian President says negotiating positions with Russia have become "more realistic".

While Russia's foreign minister says a neutral status for Ukraine is being discussed.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been visited in Kyiv by the prime ministers of Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, who all made the dangerous rail journey to the capital.

He has conceded his country won't be allowed to join NATO.

President Zelenskyy says talks with Russia are making progress but will take time:
