Describing slavery as "abhorrent"
Britain's Prince William has expressed his "profound sorrow" over the horrors of slavery, describing it as " abhorrent."
The 39 year-old made the comments during a tour of the Caribbean - where protests have been held over the UK's role in the slave trade.
It's been reported that dozens of Carribean political leaders have written to the British monarchy, calling for slavery reparations.
Prince William addressed the legacy of the British Empire:
Earlier, Jamaica's Prime Minister Andrew Holness told the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge the nation intends to become an "independent prosperous country":
Jamaica has made an extraordinary contribution towards music & sport globally, of which we saw on display today. pic.twitter.com/pkaea4kVck
