Follows first reported case of Covid-19
Tonga's main island will enter lockdown for 7 days, following its first reported case of Covid-19 since the pandemic was declared.
The remote region's government has identified an infected traveller who arrived from New Zealand last week.
The measures will come into force just after midnight.
Restrictions will only apply to Tongatapu, where most of the population reside.
Tonga was one of the last places in the world without the record of a Covid-19 case.
