Officials Say Worst Of Greek Wildfires Are Over

Temperatures continue to reach 40 degrees this week

Officials say the worst of the wildfires are now over in the Peloponnese region of Greece.

Temperatures continue to hit 40 degrees this week.

Firefighters from across the globe have been helping local teams tackle the flames.

In recent days, the entire Northern part of the the Greek Island, Evia was completely destroyed by wildfires.

With residents evacuating, as homes & businesses were destroyed.

Greek officials say climate change is to blame for the fires, which started during a heatwave where temperatures reached 45 degrees Celsius.

Wildfire tactical adviser with South Wales Fire and Rescue, Craig Hope, says it's not over yet for his Greek counterparts:
