A gunman who killed five people in Plymouth before turning the weapon on himself had his firearm seized after he assaulted two people last year.
Police took Jake Davison's shotgun in December - but returned it last month.
An inquest heard yesterday how the 22-year-old had a row with his mum before carrying out his 12-minute rampage.
