15,849 cases confirmed
A record number of people in Scotland have tested positive for Covid-19, in the latest 24-hour period.
Scotland's First minister has confirmed 15,849 new cases were registered, an increase compared to 26th December with just over 11,000.
Current restrictions in Scotland are expected to remain until the 17th of January.
Nicola Sturgeon says the Omicron variant accounts for 80% of infections, but there are signs to be optimistic:
