Nationally almost 5,000 farmers will benefit
16 farmers in Co. Kildare will be supported to undertake environmental commitments to increase the environmental value of existing farm features, under the Results-Based Environment-Agri Pilot Project.
Nationally, 5,000 farmers will benefit from the project, which pays farmers to maintain and improve the environmental conditions of their land.

Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue, noted over 10,800 applications were received by his department. Also adding the number of applicants was double what was expected. The Minister was responding to a parliamentary question of Mayo TD, Fine Gael's Michael Ring.
