Some 8312 patients, including 164 children, were admitted to hospital without a bed in June across the country.
Figures from the INMO show University Hospital Limerick was the worst affected by overcrowding this month.
It had 1,689 people on trolleys, and is followed by Sligo University Hospital at 822.
