The data also shows a significant jump in the number of Garda vehicles written off, rising from 15 in 2024 to 41 last year, with two more write-offs recorded in January.
Garda vehicles were involved in 16 road traffic collisions across the Kildare/Carlow division last year, bringing the local total to 30 Garda vehicle collisions since 2024.
New figures show there were 564 Garda fleet collisions nationwide in 2025, up from 523 the previous year, with a further 56 incidents already recorded in January 2026.
In the Kildare/Carlow division, the number of collisions increased from 14 in 2024 to 16 in 2025, although no incidents have been recorded locally so far this year.
Nationally, Garda cars accounted for the vast majority of collisions, while van incidents rose sharply in 2025.
Motorbike collisions dropped from 14 in 2024 to five last year.
No incidents involving Garda motorbikes have been recorded so far this year.

The Department of Justice says detailed records on compensation and claim costs are held by the State Claims Agency rather than An Garda Síochána.
