In 2023, from January 1st to February 28th, 104 vehicles were seized for the same reason.
The figures were provided in response to a Parliamentary Question asked by Social Democrats TD in Kildare North, Catherine Murphy.
The seizures were made under Section 41 of the Road Traffic Act in the Kildare Division for the offence of driving without insurance.
