The M7 westbound is currently closed between Junction 12 and Junction 13.
A man has died in a road crash in Kildare.
It happened on the M7 at around a quarter to nine last night.
The man, who was aged in his 20s and a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, also aged in his 20s was taken to Tallaght University Hospital, for treatment on non-life threatening injuries.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
The M7 westbound is currently closed between Junction 12 and Junction 13 to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and diversions are in place.
It's the first road death of 2024.
