Its for the section to Hazelhatch Bridge.
An additional €1.4 million has been allocated to extend the Grand Canal Greenway from the 12th Lock in Dublin to Hazelhatch Bridge in Co Kildare.
The money has been allocated by the Department of Tranport and the works are expected to be completed by next year.
The 4 kilometre development will allow people to walk and cycle from Inchicore to Hazelhatch Bridge, and later in 2023 as far as Sallins in Co Kildare.
