Parcel volumes are expected to hit three million a week in the run up to Christmas
An Post has brought forward latest Christmas postal delivery dates for parcels, due to the expected high volumes this year.
The postal service says it's unlikely to have capacity to handle all increased parcel deliveries in the wake of the collapse of Fastway Couriers.
Parcel volumes are expected to hit three million a week in the run up to Christmas.
54 million parcels were delivered last year, with that number expected to be surpassed this year.
Revenue from parcel delivery increased by 12.6 percent to over €20 million.
An Post are asking those who wish to send parcels within Ireland and the UK, to post them on or before the deadline of December 16th to ensure they are delivered in time.
Information on An Post's delivery dates for Christmas can be found here.
