It is to be built in Maynooth.
An options study is being conducted on the building which may become the permanent home of Gaelcholáiste Mhaigh Nuad.
The school is currently housed in Manor Mills Shopping Centre.
The Minister for Education, responding to questions from Kildare North Fine Gael TD, Bernard Durkan, says her department has "given approval to the Patron of the school...to appoint a Consultant to undertake an Options Study of the property in question.
Minister Norma Foley adds "This Study, when available, will be used as a basis for determining the necessary refurbishment works required to the property. This process is ongoing at present."
