Charged with the murder of her 2 children, Thelma & Mikey
Lynn Egar - originally from Brannockstown in Co. Kildare - was too unwell to face a court hearing today.
Ms. Egar has been charged with the murder of her two children in a car fire in Co. Westmeath.
5 year-old Thelma & 2 year-old Mikey, were fatally injured when the vehicle they were in went on fire on the 9t of September.
The incident happened at approximately 4pm, in Lackan - a townland on a rural road connecting the villages Multyfarnham and Coole.
Their 48 year-old mother appeared before Judge Bernadette Owens at a late special sitting of Mullingar District Court on the 22nd September.
She was remanded in custody to the Dochas Centre, the women’s unit of Mountjoy Prison.
The mother-of-four was due to face her latest hearing at the same court this morning.
However, she could not attend or appear via video link, and the Prison Service furnished the court with a sick note.
Lynn Egar was arrested and charged with the murders of her children, Thelma and Michael Dennany, a week and a half after the incident.
The district court does not have the jurisdiction to consider bail in murder cases, which only the High Court can consider.
