The Celbridge site, which could accommodate between 850 and 1,000 residential units, sits beside a location earmarked by the Department of Education for three new schools.
The National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) has completed the transfer of an 86-acre site in Celbridge to the Land Development Agency (LDA), creating capacity for up to 1,000 new homes on lands currently in agricultural use.

The Celbridge site, which could accommodate between 850 and 1,000 residential units, sits beside a location earmarked by the Department of Education for three new schools.
A planning application for 344 homes on part of the lands is already under consideration.
The transfer forms part of a wider handover that also includes a major 212-acre site in Lissenhall, near Swords, north Co Dublin.
In total, the two sites have potential to deliver between 3,850 and 4,500 homes.
The land in Celbridge is zoned for new residential purposes under the Celbridge Local Area Plan 2017–2023, and will be subject to planning permission and standard construction timelines.
Existing bus stops are located on the Dublin Road, Shinkeen Road.
The site is also within walking distance of Primrose Hill and Celbridge town centre, while the Hazelhatch and Celbridge train station is approximately 1.9km south of the site.
