Tax bands are to widen by 20%
Cabinet has signed off on changes to prevent a significant jump in Local Property Taxes.
The measures will see tax bands widen by 20%, meaning the majority of households will stay within their current bracket after the next valuation.
The revaluation will take place on November 1st.
Currently in Kildare, the Local Property Tax rate is 10% of the value of a person's home.
Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe says the increases for most households are likely to be between €5 and €25.
